Hello Everyone!

Hey guys! I'm just stopping by to let everyone know that Sammy and I made it back home safely and in one piece! Our Ireland experience was extraordinary, so be expecting upcoming blog posts! I've decided to separate each day into it's own individual post because I feel like each day deserves it's own spot light.

Thanks for all your support, and keep reading!

Much love,
Kenzie

Sundays.

To me, Sundays are days of rest. I lay down on this day, and try to do as little as possible. Although I always try to devote one thing to myself on this day. Whether it be a relaxing bath, painting my nails, or a  new facial scrub I always try to do something "mini" spa related. Today I'm going to do a special home made scrub on my face and trim my bangs. I've done my eyebrows already, and although all these things are small, they seem to make big differences in the way I start my week. So, off I go... To calm some of the stress/excitement that is bottled up inside of me.

Because tomorrow I leave for IRELAND!!<3

Much Love,
Kenzie.

Preperation

It is now less than a week before I leave for Ireland. Words can not express the different types of emotions that are enveloping me as of right now. It has been a life long dream to travel to Dublin, Ireland. When I was young, I always felt a calling strung and sewed tightly into my heart that I should visit this country. And every time someone questioned me, asking why I was not going to travel somewhere closer or perhaps cheaper, I simply told them that this is where I wanted to be. To me, Ireland is a place of true love. Love that struggles but succeeds, love that is never ending. I find it warming to know that all people will eventually have a calling to do something in there life. And this is mine. And I'm pushing forward, and really, actually doing this.

How To: Paper Beads (Indie/Tribe Style)

I've always loved the colorful looks of native american jewelry. I've especially admired the long white beads that are usually made out of bones. This little do it yourself is inspired by tribal jewelry and ELLE magazine pages. It is an easy an inexpensive project.

What You Will Need:
1.) Magazine Pages.
2.) Scissors.
3. Glue.
4. Toothpick.

You can use as many magazine pages as you want, it all depends on how many paper beads you plan to make. Look at all these juicy advertisements!! I loved the brown and turquoise colors, because I'm going for an African tribe look on my beads.

Now pick out a page that you want to start off with...

Next cut it up into triangular pieces, you can use a ruler if you'd like but if you're like me and in a hurry, just estimate.

Perfect. Now grab a toothpick and start rolling...

You want to use the toothpick so that you will be able to run your string through the bead,
don't forget to glue at the beginning, middle and end to help the bead keep it's form.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT.

There are many things you can do with paper beads, here is a sneak peak of the next project I will be working on.

MUCH LOVE,
KENZIE.

Update.

Lately all of my thoughts have been jumbled together. It's like I have all of these wonderful ideas and concepts but yet there are not enough hours in the day. This summer has passed by so quickly I haven't had time to keep up with it... My next few months are going to be an exciting endevour and a new transition in my life. This upcoming week I leave for freshmen orientation, and then in two weeks after that I leave for my Ireland trip. Once I return home I continue to work for two more weeks at my part-time job and then on August 19th I move in to the dorm. Scary stuff. In case any of you are wondering I will be studying merchandising and digital retailing, but I guess my classes for this upcoming fall semester will all depend on the placement tests, my prior college hours, etc. I have received one more scholarship since graduation (which I'm ecstatic about!) for $1,500 per semester. If all goes well and I keep my GPA up, I could receive a total of $9,000. But that is only a small portion of my future tuition costs. Life is expensive. On a lighter note, I have been experiencing a total transition in the way of thinking lately. And for once in my life, at times, I feel at peace. Most of the time it requires silence and recognition. Lately, the happiest moments are when I am busily creating. Because that's what life should be about. Taking  your imagination, and doing something with it...

DIY Picture Frame Jewelry Holder

Hello! Welcome to my new blog. I will be posting a little bit of "this" and "that", including some DIY projects. My first post is a simple and inexpensive vintage-style jewelry holder involving only a few supplies.
What You'll Need:
           1.) An old picture frame
        2.) Three strips of lace
3.) A hot glue gun
    4.) A pair of scissors
I found this old picture frame at a garage sale and bought it as a lot with many other frames. I did not like the color so I used some mint green spray paint that I had lying around the house.

A few layers of paint later...

And voila!
What You Need To Do:
Turn the frame over (after it is completely dry) and warm up your glue gun. Next glue one end on the lace onto the crease of the frame. Stretch the lace to the other side of the frame and repeat the first step. I placed my strips horizontally top, middle, to bottom.
(But you can place however many you want in any way you want!)

The Finished Product:

This is a really fun and easy project that did not take up a lot of time. I know that if you search for these pre-made the prices can be high. Comment and let me know your input or if you would like me to blog about anything else let me know!

MUCH LOVE.<3
